MY WORK
My name is Kelsey Rebecca
Nipper-Burnett. I'm experienced, passionate, and versatile.
In artist mode, I seek genuine expression, vivid color, overlooked scenery, and surrealism. As a natural impressionist, my true element is in speaking through what I observe.
Professionally, I'm exhibiting photography, photo manipulation, media editing, and graphic design. Ideal careers, however, include art director, video editor, or a media colorist. As the only Content Specialist for Central Arkansas Water for the last three years, my latest photography captures lakes, forests, water treatment plants and employees. Many graphic design examples are also from this organization.

BACKGROUND
- Began studying art and art history on my own at age 7
- Originally from Conway, AR, my interest in communications began early at Conway High School, where I studied journalism and attended Arkansas Scholastic Press Association conferences.
- My number one interest is and will likely always be photojournalism.
- Renewing creative work was crucial to getting back on my feet after two years of adjusting to neurological complications. That landed me at CAW in April, 2021. I was surprised to find a water utility could so thoroughly incorporate my goals and expertise, and I am so grateful for a position of continued learning and growth.
INSPIRATION & INFLUENCES
- Photography inspiration comes from late nineteenth through mid-twentieth century photojournalism, especially How the Other Half Lives, by Jacob Riis*.
- I've also been influenced by many artists in Aperture Magazine's The Open Road, a photography compilation by David Campany*.
- Other inspiration comes from the surreal imagery of nature, specifically flowers. The Dorothea Tanning painting, Eine Kleine Nachtmusik*, led me to the latter conclusion.
- My maternal lineage involves Moravian Czech immigrants. This has given me a profound appreciation for and sense of connection to Alphonse Mucha and his foundational work for the Art Nouveau movement*.
- My goal is finding subtle beauty in unexpected or forgotten places.
